There are so many ways to do Las Vegas, and then there’s the right way! That way is your way. If you’re looking for unique, away from the crowds, and all about you, then try our 10 local insider tips for eloping in Las Vegas.
1. Go outside!
There are so many vendors who will come to you to help you elope in Las Vegas. For this reason, you can really get married anywhere you like. All you need to do is hire a mobile officiant and this city has no shortage of those! In fact, we’re also ordained to marry all the couples. Some popular places that people get married are on the Strip in front of the Bellagio fountains, under one of the Caesars Palace gazebos, in front of the Las Vegas sign. All of the public art is up for grabs to say your vows, the bridges over the Strip, and then of course the natural locations like the dry lake bed, the canyons, the mountains, there’s even a few ghost towns you can get married in. Check out our 10 Best Desert Ceremony Locations.
2. Your reception doesn’t have to be at a venue.
Being that Vegas is a city full of fun, you can frolic with your close friends and family and make an entire night of partying and sight seeing. This place does not close. Restaurants, bars, and entertainment are usually open all night long. This means you can keep the party going all night long, with or without guests! Don’t worry about them, they can catch up later.
Get all the serotonin flowing – eat the best food, indulge in the finest drinks, sing, play, and dance to your heart’s content or even elope after you’ve seen Beyonce in concert. There’s everything to do in Las Vegas.
3. There are plenty of transportation companies that bring you to all the best spots.
If you’re not the sitting still type, or the table service type you can hire a party bus (that you can drink on) and hit all of the best spots and get front of the line privileges. In the summer these are popular for pool parties and on any given night you can find these tours for nightclubs. You’ll be able to hit big name parties at MGM Grand, Drais, and Aria. In addition, there’s another bus that takes you on a tour of a handful of dispensaries where you get to learn all about marijuana, and maybe even smoke it along the way. Bam! Reception!
4. Fremont Street is the more affordable, (some may even say) funner alternative to the Strip.
Growing up, we hit the Strip all the time, it was just the norm. In my 20s I accepted the high drink, clubbing, and entertainment prices and never knew that up the street there was a place I could get just as drunk and be just as entertained and spend so much less to do so. Fremont Street is where the culture is. Here you’ll find street art and old Las Vegas appeal. It is the original Strip that is now famous for cheap food, cheap drinks, and cheap thrills.
On Fremont Street, you’ll find the Cat’s Meow, a poppin karaoke bar with a great view of the canopy.
Hit Gold Spike and play in their backyard, but with a drink in your hand. Take in the vibes while you play giant beer pong with your guests.
Or reserve a bottle on the rooftop of downtown Las Vegas’ newest adult only hotel and casino, Circa. The prices are way cheaper than the Strip.
5. The locals have the best rides.
Shop on Turo.com for your next car rental. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. On top of that, you’ll be supporting local economy. From Teslas to McLarens, you’ll find a ride just as sexy as your brand new spouse so you can cruise to check out the sights and stunt a little. Eloping in Las Vegas means you can live out your fantasies of grandeur and luxury.
6. There’s more to Las Vegas than the Strip.
So you know about Fremont, but there’s also a plethora of beautiful natural wonders surrounding the Las Vegas Strip. We’re an hour from mountains and snow in the winter. There are red rock mountain ranges and lots of trails just 20-30 minutes West of the Strip. We have wetlands and national parks. Las Vegas even has public art out in the middle of the desert. So don’t limit yourself, get away from the crowds and check out all that Las Vegas has to offer.
7. Every part of your wedding can be custom.
You’re not going to sit around at a venue waiting to be served in Vegas, because you don’t have to create the ambience when you come here, the ambience exists everywhere, you just have to find it. That’s why you have us. We’re Las Vegas locals with a beat on all of the best spots in Las Vegas to visit and to create the most amazing roaming experience for your wedding.
For example, you’d like to see the more remote side of Las Vegas so you and your guests hit the dry lake bed to cruise and see what all the fuss is about. The nothingness is all the fuss, truly. It’s kind of amazing all of the stuff that’s not there, just dry, cracked lake bed that is quiet and feels like a whole other world.
Or, if you and your guests are whiskey drinkers, The Lost Distillery is the spot for you. It’s a whole whiskey tasting experience with entertainment to boot, like live burlesque dancers, magicians, and literature based rooms to enjoy your whiskey tasting with your guests. It’s a whole vibe.
8. Open alcohol containers are allowed in public on the Strip and Downtown Fremont.
Yup! Bring a bottle, buy a yard long cup and fill it with your favorite alcoholic slushy and add some shots too. Hold that tall can while you see the sights. Hell, you can tout your own bottle and backpack with all of the supplies you need to drink up!
9. Some casinos have their own trams between related casino and hotels and they’re free.
Besides the Las Vegas monorail you’ll find that some casinos (not all) are connected by a tram that makes traveling between locations so much easier. The Strip is made up of HUGE hotels that contain their own tiny cities in them. Food, drinks, entertainment, lodging all in one location make the Strip hotels huge!
You can see the Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur using one tram. Then you can hit New York, New York across the bridge, and MGM Grand across another bridge.
Then a little further up the Strip is another tram system that covers MGM Park, Aria, Crystals (mall), and Bellagio.
Finally, there’s a tram between Mirage and Treasure Island.
How is this relevant elopement info? Well, if you decide to hit the Strip for some photos, you can make sure to hit all the perfect spots efficiently. You can get married at the Las Vegas sign, park at Park MGM for a quick cocktail hour and some snacks. Head to Crystals to pick up a special gift to celebrate the big day, maybe something luxurious and expensive at one of the many high end stores in the mall. Or maybe pick up a brand new piece of art to have shipped to your home to mark your wedding day. Take more photos at the conservatory in Bellagio before you wait to sit down for your dinner in front of the fountains. Then party the night away at any of the clubs on the Strip.
10. Wear your dress and/or suit all day long!
Look, you might feel funny about wearing your bridal attire all day, but why the hell not? This is the city of bougie. Every hotel/casino is draped in the finest luxuries, why can’t you do it?
Plus, if you wear your wedding attire all day, you’re triggering hundreds and thousands of people to congratulate you all day long, send you money on your cash app, buy you drinks, give you free stuff, compliment you on your fine ass spouse, etc. So even if you’re not having the traditional blowout, you’re getting to enjoy the gifts and love from total (sometimes drunk and maybe a little lifted) strangers that comes with a Las Vegas elopement. So enjoy and indulge yourselves in your one time wear on a day of absolute celebration. You deserve it! You only get married once (or so we all hope =0)).
Las Vegas isn’t just some cheesy place to celebrate an elopement with an Elvis impersonator as your officiant.
