Summer

North County San Diego
There are wineries, beaches, forests, botanical gardens, meadows, a generally laid back surfer vibe, and lots of cool things to do in this area. It’s the perfect spot for an epic elopement.
Julian
A quaint San Diego mountain town that’s famous for its apple pie and history of gold mining. If you’re diggin’ small town vibes and want to elope in a forest, this could be your spot.
Sunset Cliffs

Step 3. Apply For Your Marriage License
Getting married in California is fairly straightforward. Here are the highlights covering most counties, as county clerks are the marriage license authorities in California. Google the county you’ll be marrying in for full details.
- You can apply online for a San Diego marriage license.
- Fees range throughout counties but are as high as $144 for a confidential license in San Diego. A Google search of the county assessor’s office in the county you’re eloping in will show you what you nees and how you need to apply.
- San Diego requires you to make an appointment to pick up your license in person, which you both must be present to pick up.
- San Diego licenses require you to perform the wedding within 90 days.
