When to Elope in San Diego

Spring

High 60s, low mid 50s from March-May. It’s sweater weather but there are still plenty of clear days with no rain.

Summer

High 70s, low mid 60s from June-August. The city is bustling with Summer tourists. Keep in mind this is when the beaches and popular sights are more crowded, but lucky for you, we know where all the hidden gems are.

Fall

High 70s, low low 60s from September-November.

Winter

Where to Elope in San Diego

La Jolla

This is the bougiest beach in all of San Diego. It is lined with the county’s biggest mansions, the nicest stores and restaurants, and even has some visiting seals. But it is also has some of the most gorgeous beaches (even a nude one), bluffs, parks, and a famous pier.

North County San Diego

There are wineries, beaches, forests, botanical gardens, meadows, a generally laid back surfer vibe, and lots of cool things to do in this area. It’s the perfect spot for an epic elopement.

Step 3. Apply For Your Marriage License

Getting married in San Diego is fairly straightforward. County clerks are the marriage license authorities in California. Here’s what you’ll need for San Diego.

You can apply online for a San Diego marriage license.
Fees start at $144 for a confidential license in San Diego.
San Diego requires you to make an appointment to pick up your license in person, which you both must be present to pick up.
San Diego licenses require you to perform the wedding within 90 days.
