A Few Considerations

Locations

The Strip

A 5.5 mile strip of large hotels that are made up of their own tiny cities with lots of restaurants, entertainment, pools, event and concert venues, and so much more in each one of them. You’ll find the Bellagio Fountains on the Strip, along with the Big Apple Rollercoaster, the Eiffel Tower, Stratosphere, The Sphere, and so much more.

Paid parking is mostly only available in parking garages. Valet comes at a price.

Each hotel is large and doing it on foot block to block takes time, but it is pedestrian friendly with lots of bridges over the crossings.

You can take trams, the double deuce buses, monorails or even the boring company tunnels to get from place to place but besides the bus there is no continuous form of transportation that takes you from the top to bottom.

Ubers, Lyfts, and taxis are a typical, reliable, and affordable form of transportation, but make sure to find the designated locations for pickups for each hotel.  They will not pick you up on a random corner of the street.

Photography in some places might be prohibited.  Call each location separately to find out.  When in doubt, don’t spend too much time photographing in the casinos, usually other locations are okay as long as you’re keeping it moving along quickly.  Anywhere outside of the hotels is usually fine to photograph.

Fremont Street

An approximately 2 mile strip made up of the Fremont Street experience, small original Strip hotels including The Golden Nugget, Circa, and The Plaza experience as well as their bars which are all open to under the canopy.

Under the canopy it is only pedestrian traffic except for 3 cross streets where cars pass.  You can find street performers, showgirls, and 3 stages where free concerts are always taking place.

Outside of the canopy there are lots of small bars, other hotels like El Cortez, The Mob Museum, Gold Spike, and lots of restaurants and other locations to hang out.

Arts District

Just South of Fremont Street is this laid back location where First Fridays takes place on the first friday of every month.  There’s restaurants, plenty of places to thrift a dress or suit for your elopement, an antique mall, speakeasy style bars, lounges, and many other experiences.  It is famous for its murals, art galleries, and sculptures.

Paid parking is available in hotel garages, paid public parking lots, and paid street parking.  Valet is usually free here, but please tip your valet attendants.

China Town

Just West of the Strip on the other side of the 15 is Spring Mountain which is the main street where lots of the China Town spots live in strip mall form.  It’s about 2 miles long and you can find anything from karaoke, famous restaurants, boba, claw arcades, and so much more.

Parking is available for free in the strip malls.

Fremont Street starting at $49 per person.

When I was scared to go ziplining one time in the Colorado Rockies, I was told that ziplining is kinda like riding a bike. It totally is, but these ziplines have drunk people below them and a canopy of lights above them, which is a freakin’ trip!

This is the water but it’s a waterway going through the middle of The Venetian. It’s still cool because you’re transported to Venice on a gondola where a man sings love songs and rows you around. You can choose an inside or outside experience, although I’ve heard the outdoor experience is better.  The inside experience takes you through the mall which looks like it’s outdoors because of the sky and cloudy ceiling like most malls in Las Vegas.
